Suspect On The Run, After Shooting Austin ISD Officer At Northeast ECHS

On Tuesday, an officer of Austin ISD ( Independent School District ) was shot at Northeast Early College High School, Sources said.

The School was on lockdown after the shots were heard in the area, according to the school district.

The officer was injured during the fray in the parking area, said the Austin ISD.

The County EMS Austin-Travis said on the social media post that the call was received at 10:44 a.m.  “adult with non-life-threatening injury to a local trauma center. No additional patients have been, evaluated, treated, or transported at this time.”

It was also reported that the suspect is still on the run.

The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas shared on Twitter that the officer was a member of CLEAT. The CLEAT also reported that the injuries suffered by the member were non-life-threatening.

people were requested by the district official not to come to campus, later on, the campus was declared safe.

AISD shared on social media at 12:45 p.m. that the campus was still on lockdown and that families were to go to Delco Activity Center (4601 Pecan Brook Dr.) to receive their children who will be shifted there by bus.

Students whose parents are not there for pickup will be transported by bus to their houses.

The directions were also issued for the families coming to pick up their children at Delco to stay in the cars and bring their form of ID. AISD hinted that the parents may unite with their children by 2 p.m.
